Lisciano Castle
Lisciano Castle, located on the top of the hill overlooking Lisciano Niccone East, has very ancient origins, the construction of the castle dates back to the IX-X century AD
Pierle Castle
Pierle Castle is located on the eastern slope of Mount Maestrino. Thanks to a testament of the end of the eleventh century, we know that at that time the castle belonged to the Marquis of Monte; later in the fourteenth century it was bought by Casali in Cortona which rebuilt the castle of Pierle giving the grandeur that still characterizes it.
Unfortunately, the lack of conservation does not allow a perfect preservation of the building.
Reschio Castle
Reschio Castle is on the Tuscan-Umbrian border, about 3 km from Lisciano Niccone. It was built before the year 1000 and in the Middle Ages was long disputed by the lords of Perugia, Florence and Città di Castello for his strategic position. The castle, still in good condition and you can admire its Renaissance features.
Sorbello Castle
A few kilometers from Lisciano Niccone you can visit the Sorbello Castle, one of the few castles in the area that has Ghibelline traditions, as shown by its crenellated towers. The construction of the castle dates back to the tenth century and was subsequently extended and modified. Inside the castle gentilizi apartments have magnificent coffered ceilings. Of great interest are also the waiting hall, decorated with paintings of the seventeenth century, and the throne room.
